Climate Collaboration Student Council

Dear UC Irvine community,

The UCI Climate Collaboration is launching the Student Climate Council (SCC) and seeking one representative per school or department to join its inaugural team.

The SCC is a student-led advisory and engagement group that will:

  • Strengthen outreach and participation in Climate Collaboration events such as mixers, workshops, and seminars with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between department/school and the Climate Collaboration.
  • Foster a vibrant interdisciplinary community of climate-engaged students.
  • Meet monthly to exchange ideas, share feedback, and shape initiatives.
  • Meet with the Climate Collaboration leadership (including the Advisory Committee of Deans) punctually.

We are looking for students who:

  • Have a personal, academic, or professional commitment to climate, resilience, or sustainability.
  • Are interested in interdisciplinary engagement and learning.
  • Comfortable working with faculty, peers, and leadership within their school or department.

We invite you to nominate yourself or a student.

Time Commitment:

  • One student-led SCC meeting per month.
  • One short monthly check-in with the Climate Collaboration leadership team.
  • Participation in events, outreach, and student-led initiatives.
